Different Drum - er, Guitar

So I was at one of my guitar lessons and my teacher asked if I still wanted to trade guitars. He has several, and he was going to sell one on eBay, but it was one I happened to really like. In fact I had joked one time about swapping with him. Well, here he was, making the offer.

So I have a guitar with much easier action than my old one, and I'm really liking it.

Hope that you enjoy the upgrade.

Yeah, the new guitar is great. I think my teacher gave me quite the deal.

I'm also learning an eclectic repertoire - a jazz number (Autumn Leaves), an acoustic rock song (Tequila Sunrise), two classic rockers (You Really Got Me, Smoke On The Water) and a headbanger (Thunderstruck, by AAC/DC).

Now I can suck in several genres! :)

In the dark recesses of my memory I can recall doing the chord intro to Smoke on the Water while in high school. I think it was mandatory for any kid with an electric guitar!

Yeah, you have to learn one of three:
1. Smoke on the Water
(aka Slow Motion Walter, the fire engine guy)
2. Stairway to Heaven
3. House of the Rising Sun

It's the law.

I actually learned two of the three (1 & 2).

Man, that was a long time ago!
